Earthdance and charity
Charities - Clubbing with a Conscience:
For three years since its conception in 1997 until 1999, Earthdance focused on the plight of the Tibetan people and was described by the Dalai Lama's London secretary as "the most successful global event of its kind aimed at Tibet". One of the projects supported was the Tadra Project Children's Village in Eastern Tibet. This Tibetan charity based in Germany supports homeless Tibetan children, many of whom would not otherwise survive the bitterly cold Tibetan winters. Since 1997 Earthdance has raised enough funds to build two children's homes and begin the construction of a much-needed medical center.
In the year 2000, Earthdance expanded its focus to include other important global causes with the Earthdance mission of peace remaining the spearhead of the campaign. In addition, the new Earthdance Urban initiative, launched in 2001, has taken the Earthdance message to an even wider audience attracting promoters from other music scenes who are closely associated with the urban electronic genres such as hip hop and drum and bass.
The four global causes that Earthdance now supports are:
- Environment
- Children
- Urban Youth
- Indigenous Peoples
In addition, in 2002, Earthdance has aligned with the United Nations Year of the Mountains imitative and is also supporting the United Nations intitiative Adopt-A-Landmine.
The Earthdance Gauteng Charity:
In light of recent channelled messages and even the appearance of a Crop Circle, Earthdance has chosen the ORCA Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society to be the charity focus for this year's event.

These incredible creatures have been helping humans for as long as we can remember, the time has come where they now need our urgent help. Too many of them are dying in the polluted waters, being caught unnecessarily in nets and it has now reached a point where they are on the verge of becoming an endangered species. We know that any contribution to their preservation can be of great help, and in this we urge you to get involved. ORCA aims to fight the pervading lawlessness that plunders our marine resources along the coastline and offshore of Southern Africa, creating awareness of the threat that our marine environment is facing. The objective is to restore and maintain the biodiversity of our marine ecosystem through education and involvement of community at all levels.

Implementation of a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Plettenberg Bay
The above crop circle appeared on the eastfields of England on the 14th August 2002. What makes this particular crop circle so dramatic and urgent, is the fact that it appeared on the same day that Thomas, a psychic child from Bulgaria sent out an e-mail warning about the low frequency sonar that is beginning to destroy ocean mammals all over the world. The below passage is what Thomas had to say on the matter:
