THE LINK UP
At midnight GMT, which is at 02H00 in South Africa, the link-up ceremony will take place. This is when DJs at every Earthdance event around the world play the track “Prayer for Peace”.
We link our minds with the collective consciousness of Earthdancers worldwide with a dramatic ceremony of love and light, as we dance with our brothers and sisters across the globe.
WEBCAST
This year Earthdance has 10 venues participating in the global webcast. Johannesburg will represent Africa in this audio and video netcast and will also supply footage for the international Earthdance 2004 DVD!
TIMING
Doors open at 5.00pm on Saturday afternoon. Close 10.00am Sunday morning.
An eclectic line up of bands and performers will take you through to the Global Link-up ceremony at 02.00am Sunday morning. After the link-up, the dance party begins and will run into the morning.
DRUG POLICY
Earthdance Johannesburg adopts a non-judgemental approach to drug use. However we do not allow drug dealing on the premises. Any persons found dealing in drugs will have to leave.
CHARITY
We have chosen the CICI (Creative Inner City Initiative) as the organisation for this year. CICI is a poverty alleviation project focused on the upliftment of communities in Johannesburg’s inner city areas of Hillbrow, Berea and Joubert Park through creative regeneration.
