The Earthdance Collective Spirit

Earthdance is the world’s largest dance party for peace. On September 18, 2004, over 200 000 people in more than 130 cities and 50 nations will come together for the 8th annual Earthdance celebration.

Independent Earthdance events in venues around the planet join in celebrating life and love in this global dance event. Together we unite in a common vision for a peaceful and harmonious future on planet Earth.

At 12.00pm GMT (2.00am South African time), DJs on every dance floor play the track “Prayer for Peace”, so Earthdance participants unite in one mind with others around the world.

Six cities around the world - including Johannesburg - will link up via netcasts over the Internet.

The proceeds of each Earthdance event are donated to charities for local environmental and human rights organisations.

South Africa will host Earthdance events in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Dargle.
