Earthdance South Africa
Earthdance is the world’s largest dance party for peace. On September 18, 2004, over 200 000 people in more than 130 cities and 50 nations will come together for the 8th annual Earthdance celebration.
Independent Earthdance events in venues around the planet join in celebrating life and love in this global dance event. Together we unite in a common vision for a peaceful and harmonious future on planet Earth.
At 12.00pm GMT (2.00am South African time), DJs on every dance floor play the track “Prayer for Peace”, so Earthdance participants unite in one mind with others around the world.
Ten cities around the world - including Johannesburg - will link up via netcasts over the Internet.
The proceeds of each Earthdance event are donated to charities for local environmental and human rights organisations.
South Africa will host Earthdance events in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Dargle and Coffee Bay.
The future is not set in stone. Together we can create the future by the choices we make today.
Earthdance is committed to fostering world peace. It encourages the gathering of like-minded people from all over the planet once a year to celebrate life and commit to peace.
We believe it is possible for human beings to live in peace with one another and in harmony with planet Earth. When we connect through music, dance and mindfulness, we can awaken to our unity in the greater human family.
When we gather to open our hearts, expand our minds, focus our intention and experience love, we sow the seeds of a brighter world.
