On September 13 2008 more than 50 nations in over 340 locations will come together for the 12th annual Earthdance celebration. - The 11th year in South Africa.

Aligned to the UN International Peace Week the mission is to support non-profit humanitarian and environmental causes. In the spirit of "Think Global, Act Local," each local Earthdance event donates at least 50% of their profit to a local charity.
The highlight of Earthdance is a simultaneous link-up, when every event across the world plays the 4-minute ‘Prayer for Peace’ track. A profound and powerful unifying moment.  In South Africa, this will be 1am on Sunday 14 September.

This year’s theme is “Honouring the Earth” where communities will unite in the global language of music and dance.
South African events for this year will be staged in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.  Watch this space for more info and updates.
